Playing at the Park

We took the boys to play at the wooden park near our house! It's been so fun to have them in town. I am sad they are leaving soon. I feel bad though, because I think they have been going stir crazy because of Trevor's and my work schedule. Tonight is the last night they will stay at our house. Then it's another year before we see them again, unless they come for Christmas!

Getting Ready for the Craft Fair

Last October my mom and I went to Loa for their Craft fair with my Grandma. I was fortunate enough to have been able to use up a little space in my cousin's booth for my tutus. This year I will have my own booth. Along with my tutus, I have decided to sell headbands. I know flowers and bows are really big for little girls right now, but I think big girls (i.e mommies) need some fun accessories too. I have seen quite a few cute headbands for women, so I decided to make my own. Here are my first attempts.

Huck Fin Days

These posts are a little out of Order.... Huck Fin days is always on Friday during Strawberry days. I am usually at work, so I have only been to one of them, but Trevor always makes sure to be there to play with the nephews. This year Trevor, Nobi and Conner actually caught fish in the pond. It was the first time any of them have ever caught a fish. I was sad I missed it.

The Parade

The parade this year did not go by Trevor's parent's house because of all the construction, but we were able to get really good seats anyway. There were 96 floats and lots of candy to be had. Both Nobi and Conner caught a ball and Lorrie Caught a shirt. It was fun. Th rain proved to be the only thing from making it perfect.

10 reasons I love Strawberry Days

10- Concerts In the Park- Every Sunday night starting with Strawberry Days, they hold a free concert on Sunday evenings at the Old PG rec center.

9- Carnival Rides- I LOVE carnival rides!! LOVE em! Although the fact that the rides are set up and taken down in a mere week are a little unsettling.

8- People Watching- I know it's bad to people watch, but the craziest outfits are seen at carnivals. It's inexpensive, and entertaining...

7- Funnel Cakes- There is nothing like eating deep fried dough, with a pound of powdered sugar on top and smiling the whole time!

6- Watching my nephews enjoy all the splendors a carnival has to offer- I love to watch the glimmer in their eyes as they look at all the rides and games, and just see their little brains trying to plan out their adventure for the night! It's one of the neatest things to witness.

5- The Rodeo- The Strawberry days rodeo is a staple in Pleasant Grove History. Trevor takes great pride in dressing up for the Rodeo. I love watching him try on 5 different cowboy shirts, before finally choosing the best one!

4- Huck Fin Day- Another day for the kids! Lots of fun free activities, and smiling faces!

3- The Parade- Trevor's parent's home is on the route, so we get a front row seat to the best parade of the summer!

2- My birthday- Strawberry days falls on or near my birthday every year! I love having the excuse to by myself something from the boutique every year!

1- Strawberries N Cream- It's simple and delicious!

Doctors and Lunch

Yesterday we saw the specialist for Trevor. We stopped at Chik-Fil-A for lunch. Trevor had never been there, and was disturbed that he could not order a burger! While reading the menu, he became very quiet, and a look of concern swept across his face. He then turned to me and asked me to look at the number #8 (I think it was number #8, could have been #5), anyway he decided that the nugget meal was really called Chik-"feel"-a Nugget. We both laugh so hard tears came to our eyes. He said he thought it was a strange name for a meal, but then I confirmed the actual pronunciation, and it served to be a great meal! The poor girl behind the counter probably thought we were laughing at her.

The Dr appt was very informative, and went smoothly. The next and hopefully last appt is in July.

So Excited!

I have thin hair that never seems to grow past my shoulders. For two years now, I have been growing out my hair, and while it is the longest it has ever been, it is only just past my shoulders! I get the split ends cut regularly, and I use all the salon shampoos and products, I have the nice dryer and a fairly decent flat iron. I have tried taking pre-natal pills, and all sorts of vitamins, and nothing ever helps! For those of you with the same problem, rest assured there is a cure!

HAIR EXTENSIONS!

That's right folks! Hair Extensions! I have wanted hair extensions for so long, but have never been able to afford getting them professionally done. I talk about having it done and saving for them, but something else always catches my eye and I forget about them for a while. Yesterday, I was playing around on ebay and came across a store that sells clip in extensions. I have previously purched hot pink and purple clip in synthetic extensions, and was happy with how they stayed in, and loved the fun color. I was however unhappy that the synthetic hair could not be styled in anyway. Knowing that, if I was to ever buy them again, I would have to purchase real hair. I talked to a few people who are repulsed by the idea of wearing someone elses hair. I am not. The hair is clean, and can by dyed, and curled and styled like normal. Plus the texture is real, does not look fake at all. Anyway... Back to my discovery. The store on ebay, had 20" extensions that clip in and are real. How much? A whopping $32.60!! So, in 10 to 13 days, I will finally have the long thick hair I have always wanted!! I was able to call the sellar and believe the quality is going to be perfect! And, the best part, if I don't want long hair one day, I can take them out with a few snaps!! Youtube, even has tutorials on how to insert and style them.

Stay tuned, for a full report on how they work, and if they are worth the 32.60 I paid for them.

My husband is covered in Moles

Seriously!! Trevor had another doctor appt Friday. He was scheduled to have more of his skin and tissue tested around the mole we had removed to see how far the cancer has spread. While in the procedure room at our doctors office, the doctor determined that the job was too big for him to tackle. And that we would have to go to a specialist. He will have to have a procedure done called MOHS. It is the procedure that I actually thought he was going to have on Friday. The doctor will cut away small pieces of tissue and look at them through a microscope until they don't find anymore cancer. If the area is too large, he will have to have radiation therapy. Also, if the area is too large, he will have to have a skin graft. This will be on June 11th. I am terrified!! In more mole news, Friday while we were at the doctors, he had more of his moles looked at to see if any more look suspicious. The one on the side of his head above his ear was removed on Friday and sent in to have a biopsy done. We will know more in about ten days. I just keep hoping and praying that we are almost done with all these doctor visits. The doctor told Trevor that is was strange that Trevor would already have these issues because he was so young, and that we are going to have to monitor these for the rest of our lives.

CUTE

I really want this!!
