Cancer at 27

Trevor went to Doctor today to have a mole looked at on his neck. He has had the mole for several years and each year it gets considerably more disgusting. Finally we made the appointment. With a hand on each shoulder the Doctor looked Trevor straight in the eyes and told him that it's cancer, and we are lucky enough it has not spread to his lungs. Saturday he will be getting the mole removed and biopsied. From the biopsy we will know the severity of the cancer. Please say a little prayer for my husband, and for me. I hate to make this a public announcement, but we need all the prayers we can get at the moment.

Families are Forever

I was reading an old article from L. Tom Perry in the May 2003 Ensign, when I came across this and thought that even though we are nearly half way into 2009, it's not too late to make this my goal this year.

The Goal:

"May it be our resolve this year to build a gospel-centered home, a safe harbor from the storms of the adversary."

I may only have a little family, with just my husband and me, but how great is this goal.

The article goes on to talk about the turmoil and the uncertainty of the world, and that it is important more than ever to make our families the center of our lives and our top priorities. Families get caught up today in the world in work, friends, school, and sports, that sometimes all the family sees of each other is a few minutes a day. I am so thankful to have Trevor, and to have him be my husband, and my family. I am happy to come home to him each night and seek refuge from work and from all the stresses in my day. I am happy that I can be that same person to him to. This year, we will celebrate our second anniversary. It is my goal to make this be the start of something better. To make our home be our safe harbor each and every day. And, against all the odds that the world gives me each day, through the gospel, and through Heavenly Father it is possible.

I hope that one day we can share our love with a family or our own, and be together as Mother and Father so that our children will feel safe and loved too. Being parents will be our greatest test here on earth and our greatest joy.
Looking back I can't imagine what my parents thought of me as I was growing up and learning how to exist day to day. How they must have thought when I went through trials in my life, and when I overcame them too. I imagine how Trevor's parents were while he was growing up learning and making the same mistakes as a precocious boy. And, now that we are both adults, how our parents still feel and think about the directions are lives are going.

To me family is the greatest part of Heavenly Father's plan. It may be complicated, and messy at times, but FAMILY means perfection. Each person in a family is different, but somehow we all fit together in Heavenly Father's plan, and he knew how it was all going to work, and how each day we get through. It's simply amazing to me, and I will be forever grateful to my families, and I know Trevor is grateful for his too!

Golfing, Good Friends, and Great Times

I must say that when we got golf clubs for Christmas a couple years ago, I had no idea that it would lead to what it has. I was very excited when my parents gave Trevor and I clubs for Christmas, and could not wait to use them. The first summer we had them, we went nearly every weekend, and sometimes we would get 3 rounds in one day! We were addicted! Trevor's parents had not golfed in years, and we got them hooked as well. I think that summer my tan was the darkest it had been in years! Even with all the sunscreen I used! Our favorite course has been Mic Riley, the small par 3 in Murray. It was the course that we learned on. The price is awesome and it allowed us to play all day! My very favorite course is in Fairview. It is a par 4 and there are no dog-legs, and hardly any houses. You can just hit the ball and not worry about anything! Plus, 18 holes and a cart only cost 7 dollars!! Well two years ago that was the price anyway. Trevor and I love to go and just play around. When it comes to our game, half the time we just play for fun, and have a good ole time. I have this thing that while I am putting, if my ball goes over the hole or near the whole, it's called a gimme. Which is why I usually win.

I have been itching to go golfing all year, I usually get the itch sometime in March, and since the weather and our schedules have been so crazy this year, I have had to wait. Saturday the wait came to an end. We finally got to go! We took Adam and Brianne with us. We went to Mic Riley, and had a fabulous day! The lawns were still to wet for carts, so we walked the course. I was not too excited about that fact since I had new shoes on and they were already rubbing on my heels. We made the best of it though. We started out pretty good! Trevor got an awesome birdie on the second hole. It was the most amazing put I have ever seen!! By the fourth hole, I was already hitting a 16, and things were looking grim... Trevor and Adam were hitting about the same, and Brianne was doing awesome! She led the score boards the whole day! I will not disclose our final scores, but there is work to be done for sure! I am also happy to report that we all got our first sunburns of the season. Well at least Trevor and I did for sure. I don't burn too often, which is good. Trevor has a pretty good farmer tan going on though. It's awesome!
After golfing we ordered some pizza, and watched movies at Adam's and Brianne's! The pizza, was ok. It was an hour late!! First off, while I was ordering, the guy on the other line should have not been on the phone. I asked if they had any specials, and instead of telling me what they were, his response was a plain old "Yes." I had to then ask "Well what are they." Ha Ha, the conversation did not go well from there. But, it turned out to be ok. The day ended pretty late, and I fell asleep during the second movie. But it was so much fun!!
We are going to plan a trip to Fairview a little later in the summer with Adam and Brianne so we can play again, and camp at the farm! We have a great summer planned with our families! This year I decided that I wanted to go to Arches for my birthday too! I can't wait!

Yummy Itialiano

Last Night Brianne and I finally had our GNO! (girls night out) I have not had one in forever! We went to this super good restaurant called Carrabba's! It is super fancy and a little pricey. I had the Mushroom Ravioli, and I have to say, I have had better. I think mine was a little over-cooked. Brianne had a dish that I can't even remember the name! It's like Machu Pichu! Ha Ha inside joke, but that is how it's basically pronounced. Anyway, it was a great time!! Something we are definitely going to do every month! I totally spaced out on getting pics though...

Missed Pictures...

I tried to post these yesterday, but it would not let me... There are only a couple, but it was fun!
Can you Hear Me? Ha Ha Ha!! I love this pic!!

The target, is from the both of us, I am not sure which ones are mine and which are not, but I am sure the crazy ones are mine...

It really helps if you close one of your eyes and make a funny face!

Easter Weekend

Trevor and I had a quiet Easter weekend. We had planned on going to Loa with the family for Easter, but he had been in Texas all week, and his flight did not get in until 11:00 Friday night. We thought that it would be better for the two of us to just stay home this weekend. Saturday, after a much needed sleep in day, Trevor really, really wanted to shoot his new pistol. Since I was in a good mood, I obliged. It was pretty fun, he was in heaven playing with his new toy. Afterwards, we had to do a bit of shopping. When I say had to, I meant it!! I have not bought new jeans in forever!! The seam on my jeans came undone when I tried to get into the truck! Trevor usually has to stand behind me and give me a little push up to get in, but I wanted to do it myself. I am going to have him buy me a stool!
Anyway, we kind of went crazy and bought me a pair of super cute pants, a shirt and new pair of heels! Which by the way, Trevor picked out, and they are dang cute! They are brown, and tan striped peep toe with a bow on the front! We bought Trevor a pair of jeans, two pairs of shorts, and new church shoes! Can we say SPOILED!! Afterwards, we went home to get ready for our date night. Where did we go? Olive Garden!! I love, love, love their food! Trevor had never been to the Olive Garden before, and I have been trying to get him to take me for years, so it was a nice treat! He liked it! While walking out to the car, I was trying to avoid the puddles from the rain; I don't know how or what happened, but I tripped and I went down face first into a puddle about 10 feet from the car! While it did not really hurt me, I cried! My ego was very bruised! Luckily I did not tear my new jeans, and not too many people witnessed the atrocity! Ha Ha.

Sunday we got up and went to church. We sat behind this super cute family with two little girls and a little boy. The little boy kept growling at his dad, and then he would look back at Trevor and I am just smile! So I started to play the whole peek-a-boo thing with him, it was fun! It really made me wish that I had one. Hopefully one day. After church, we spent the day with Trevor's mom. We had a great turkey dinner! I made an awesome fruit pizza for dessert. We watched the movie Bedtime Stories. It was really nice to spend time with Lorrie!! We are so happy we did not move to Colorado! After yesterday, it just re-affirmed that we are supposed to be in Utah, and that if we did move away, we would not have the opportunity to spend time with our loved ones here!
